One of the things I’ve personally struggled with when it comes to the Freelance Design area of my websites, is the contract. I knew before I even started that I’d need one, and from all of the horror stories I had heard before, I knew I wanted a bullet proof one that would secure things both for me, as well as my clients. As I soon realized, this was easier said than done.

I’ve spent countless hours working on my contract, and I’ve never quite been happy with it. When I initially started, I tried writing one that covered every possible scenario under the sun, and this lead to a really long contract that just didn’t read very well. Then, I decided to try a minimalistic approach, where I covered just the most important stuff. This left me feeling vulnerable, and it felt like I wasn’t giving my clients enough protection either. So, once again I went in search of the be-all-end-all of my contract woes.
